Temporary sweetheart visas for unmarried partners of UK residents from overseas
Closed
160 signatures
What the petition asks
Permit unmarried partners of UK residents access to temporary visas to enter the UK, so long as they have a negative Covid test and quarantine as required by the UK Government at their own expense. Many other countries in Europe are currently permitting such visas with conditions attached.
Many people in the UK have been separated from their partners for months, who are overseas and unable to enter into the UK, due to visa restrictions as a consequence of COVID-19. Many nationalities are currently unable to enter the UK without a business visa for example, with those who are in long distance relationships or who do not live together, not knowing when they will be able to see their partner again. This ongoing uncertainty is detrimental to their mental health.
