Abolish devolved parliaments

What the petition asks
We request a UK wide referendum that provides the option to abolish the devolved parliaments thus restoring full governmental control to Westminster.
The devolved parliaments are costly and irrelevant. They are detrimental to the efficient governance of the United Kingdom and are being abused by grievance politicians. The devolved parliaments provide a platform for those who seek to break up the United Kingdom rather than look after the best interests of their constituents. To prevent further constitutional instability, damage to the fabric of society and our damage to our economy we insist that the devolved parliaments are abolished now.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.
Under existing legislation, the devolved Parliaments cannot be abolished except if the people of the devolved nations vote to do so in a referendum. This would therefore be a decision for the people of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
You could start a petition calling on the UK Government to organise referendums on the future of the devolved assemblies, to take place in each of the devolved nations.
