What the petition asks
Make it a legal requirement for job advertisements to display the role's expected salary (or salary range) in Pound Sterling, and/ or in the currency of the vacancies geographical location.
Not displaying a vacancies expected salary:
- Wastes job seekers time
- Adds to the stress of job seeking
- Increases the possibility of discriminative pay, as it facilitates paying one employee more than another, for a discriminatory reason, without the employees knowledge
- Salary Negotiable can discriminate against some people with disabilities due to the confrontation of having to negotiate for their salary. Especially for anyone with speech impediments, anxiety, or just introverted in nature.
