Give war medals to the families of the soldiers that were shot at dawn in WW1
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Many of the soldiers that were shot at dawn in WW1 did not qualify for war medals or had them taken off them. Given that 306 were pardoned in 2006 we feel it is only right that their medals get reinstated
We feel an injustice was done by refusing or revoking medals for these soldiers. They were victims of the war too.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We can't publish petitions that call for specific individuals or groups to be given honours or awards, including medals.
