Give all NHS staff one weeks extra Annual Leave

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Please debate giving ALL NHS staff one weeks extra Annual Leave to allow them to recover & recharge before more leave the professions putting the quality of care at risk for all patient groups. We need our NHS to remain ‘world class’ & retention of their expertise is vital to maintain this status.
All NHS staff have worked tirelessly during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic without furlough or financial compensation. They continue to work putting their mental & physical health at risk without complaint. Some have contracted COVID-19 & others have died selflessly caring for others. All staff honour their professional regulations by ‘putting the needs of the patient first’ to deliver best practice. We need to retain this valuable resource of staffing & allow them time to recovery & recharge.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The NHS is responsible for decisions about annual leave, not the UK Government or Parliament.
