What the petition asks
The government should legislate to not only end the sale of new diesel and petrol cars by 2030 but should also ensure new public transport does not run-on diesel or petrol by the same date.
Buses also create almost a kilogram of CO2 pollution every kilometre (860g / Km). TfL in 2018 - 19 had 455.2 Million miles of bus routes planned of which 98.36% of those were completed. That resulted in 391.472 million kilograms of CO2 pollution to enter into the air in just one year and the UK should seek to lead the world in green public transport. Electric buses by 2030 would be a considerable objective to aim towards.
