The Government should ensure the Turing scheme is as effective as Erasmus

What the petition asks
Students affected by the pandemic are not being allowed to go ahead with their year abroad due to Covid, with Brexit also taking a toll on their futures. British students/workers are missing out on learning about other cultures and increasing awareness of diversity around the world.
Possibly this would have allowed many to more success in their careers too. The proposed Turing scheme must address these losses if it is to replicate or even improve upon the opportunities that the Erasmus programme provided for UK students. The Turing Scheme should not be more expensive than Erasmus and it should offer as wide a range of location choice on where to be placed as Erasmus previously was able to.
