Change income tax thresholds for tax year 2021-2022.

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Change income tax thresholds for tax year 2021-2022.
Current plans for 21/22 is 20% on annual earnings above the PAYE tax threshold and up to £37,700 as apposed to this tax year threshold of £50,000.
at a uncertain time in our lives our UK government has once again punished the poorer population of the UK and the working class citizens who are in general employment who work hard for there money.
No other tax threshold has changed bar the 20% tax category by a significant amount. (£12,300)
higher tax bands haven't changed how much tax they pay so why should ours?!

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not aware of any plans to lower the income tax threshold. It's possible that the figure you quote is the threshold excluding the tax free personal allowance that is included for taxpayers.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
