Stop care companies from claiming accommodation offset from carers!

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

Review the accommodation offset law and stop care companies from claiming money for property they don't own ,from employees wages!
I've been working in the care sector for 7 years as a live in carer into peoples homes, helping them with day to day things and supporting them with their disability. Most of my working days include sleep nights as a live in, you are there 24h, and my employer is deducting accommodation offset from my wage, but that money doesn't go towards my expenses in the client's house or in any benefit of my job, it goes into their pockets, and its thousands a year, just because they can. The property is privately owned so I don't see why my employer should charge money for a place they don't own!

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure whether you want to ban accomodation offset, or require it to be paid directly to accomodation providers, or something else.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
