Make Chinese New Year, Diwali, EID public holidays

What the petition asks
Being British is about sharing & embracing the celebrations of various UK cultures. If those events are not bank holidays, it can create an “us & them”. For example Chinese NYE is celebrated with fireworks by many BUT can be seen as antisocial by those who didn’t.
If various events from different cultures and religions of British nationals that exist in the UK are not treated equality and celebrated as events such as Christmas and Easter are, how can those British people who observe them truly been seen as British?
The Government must acknowledge these special dates with equal importance by making them public holidays. This could help decrease division and racism in the UK and help reduce the link of British bank holidays with Christian events.
