Modify arrangements for Home Education of children with an EHCP

What the petition asks
Recognise that inclusion isn't always the answer. Parents should have the right to home educate their children. Some children who are autistic, have ADD, ADHD or sensory processing issues need an environment free from the bombardment of stimuli to thrive. They need provision for education at home.
Our son is 13. He is highly intelligent and sociable yet sensitive to colour, pattern, light, sound and textures. Environments are exhausting to him. We cannot desensitise our son. He was born this way. He shouldn’t have to fit the world of education we have created. We should be creating a world of education that fits him.
At present a local authority can require a child with an EHCP to attend a particular school, and parents can also lose support provided through an EHCP if they opt to home educate their child.
By providing help and funding for EHE children with EHCP's, money could be saved on appeals, mental health and CAMHS referrals, invested instead in our children's futures.
