Allow ALL Asthmatics who take steroid inhalers to be included in Vaccine Group 6

What the petition asks
We want all Asthmatics who use steroid inhalers and who are eligible for the flu jab each year to be included in COVID-19 Vaccination priority group 6. We are clinically vulnerable and have chronic lung conditions and we are at risk so should be prioritised over healthy adults.
Asthmatics are clearly vulnerable to serious health risks compared to healthy adults, which is why we’re offered the flu jab each year. The majority of us who have non-severe asthma take long term, steroid based medication to manage our condition. Catching Covid could make us very ill compared to non-asthmatics. We need to be prioritised alongside steroid tablet users.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about who is clinically extremely vulnerable is a clinical decision, not the responsibility of the Government or House of Commons.
We could accept a petition calling for people who are judged at moderate risk (clinically vulnerable) from Covid-19 to be given increased priority in the Covid-19 vaccination programme, if that is what you want to happen.
