Prevent Coventry Airport from being developed into a gigafactory

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

The Government must intervene to prevent Coventry Airport being considered for development into the proposed gigafactory, thereby destroying aviation activity and local villages.
1) Coventry Airport remains a vital part of the UK's pilot training infrastructure.

2) Developing the runway will force many on-site businesses to close or relocate.

3) With Wellesbourne and Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green also under threat, closing Coventry Airport will remove access to aviation for reisdents of Warwickshire and the Midlands.

4) The impact of the proposed factory will decimate the surrounding villages of Baginton and Bubenhall, amalgamating them into an industrial park.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about local joint ventures and planning decisions are a matter for individual local authorities, not the UK Government or House of Commons.
