Tougher enforcement and higher fines for illegal dumping in Manchester.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Tougher enforcement and higher fines for businesses and Landlords who think they are above the law
We are residents of Henderson street in Manchester who have had to put up with businesses and landlords who are illegally dumping their waste in our bins and creating a major health hazard, we not only feel this is an ongoing issue for us but also a major issue for many residents beyond levenshulme and Burnage and for the residents of other areas in Manchester too.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about local enforcement of fines for illegal waste disposal is a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.

You could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

You can also petition your local council directly. Find out how to petition your council here: https://democracy.manchester.gov.uk/mgEPetitionListDisplay.aspx?bcr=1

We could accept a petition calling for the UK Government to increase penalties for fly tipping across the country, if that's what you want to happen.
