Classify Covid-19 as an Occupational Disease

What the petition asks
The Government should classify Covid-19 as an occupational disease when workplace exposure occurred.
Other diseases obtained in employment have been awarded this status.
Notably, even before the virus entered the UK, Covid-19 was known to have deadly potential. Long covid has since also become evident.
Workers who were exposed to Covid in the workplace and have since suffered effects from covid, particularly key workers, should have recognition of their plight.
This would allow affected workers to claim associated benefits and for suitable compensation to be paid, which should be in line with injured armed service personnel.
