Change the private light good weight from 3500kg to 5000kg

What the petition asks
Increase the weight of plug vehicles from the present 3500kg up to 5000kg
Modern vehicles are so much safer and more powerful than old vehicles but we are still restricted to 3500kg , this weight limit dates back to vehicles that had no servo braking no abs no power steering, modern vehicles are also heavier unleaded so payload has diminished many Van's and trucks can barely carry 100kg in a large van , it makes people accidentally exceed limits , also increasing the limit would mean less trips so more environmentally friendly
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
If you'd like the Government to change the rules of specific vehicle licencing arrangements, you could start a new petition clearly setting out what you'd like to change.
