Petition · past parliament

Remove EU flags from government buildings; only to be displayed diplomatically.

Rejected 11 signatures

What the petition asks

Stop flying, or displaying, EU flags outside or inside U.K. government buildings. The EU flag should only fly alongside the Union Jack at diplomatic events; be they domestic or abroad.
The U.K. left the European Union and our Parliaments, Assembly Halls and other government public buildings should not be permanently displaying EU Flags.

The symbolic act of flying/displaying EU flags, post-Brexit - outside or inside government buildings - is a blatant affront to the UK’s 2016 Referendum result to Leave the EU.

The Government must act clearly and concisely. Allowing EU flags to fly/display at U.K. Parliamentary or Assembly buildings creates confusion, distrust and anger.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a decision for individual legislatures and other public authorities.
