Adopt a Maximum Suppression Strategy for COVID-19 as adviced by independent SAGE

Rejected 20 signatures

What the petition asks

Adopt a Maximum Suppression Strategy for COVID-19 as recommended and outlined by Independent SAGE (Group of independent scientists) in their reports 26/02/21 and 19/02/21 rather than mere containment: https://www.independentsage.org/strategy-for-covid-19-maximum-suppression-or-mere-containment/
I would like the government to adopt a Maximum Suppression Strategy for COVID-19 rather than mere containment so that levels of infection are driven down and kept down at a low levels where outbreaks can be handled through highly targeted measures (notabley test, trace and supported isolation). This will ensure the public are protected with the minimum of disruption to everday life and the economy due to an ongoing cycle of opening up and lockdowns.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to enact a Maximum Supression Strategy.
