Pandemic Medal to recognise the extraordinary work and care by NHS & Care staff.

What the petition asks
For the UK Government to create a COVID-19 pandemic medal to be awarded to all NHS and Care workers who worked during the pandemic and to send them a £1,000 one off, thank you payment as a gesture of gratitude.
Traditionally those who fight for their country are honoured with a medal for each campaign that they service. The pandemic has been a civilian battlefield and the NHS and Care workers deserve recognition for the extraordinary dedication to treating and caring for COVID-19 patients. Those NHS and Care Workers have risked their own lives when no vaccine was available and they knew that each day they could contract a deadly disease. It is time the UK said thank you.
