Cut politicians expenses and pay rises when the country is in debt
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
The Government suggests "we are all in it together"; but keep with high expenses accounts, and still get pay rises. This despite cuts everywhere else and the country being in debt.
If can't be morally agreed then put to a public vote to let the people decide how we share the financial burdens.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
