What the petition asks

Increase the pay of NHS staff (including contracted out staff such as cleaners) and Key Workers who earn less than £30k by 10% by raising income tax by 1%

These people have saved the country, they work on the frontline for minimal pay which has in effect gone down over the last ten years.

Applauding them will not pay their bills or buy them food, they should be rewarded now and in the future.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The Government is not responsible for setting the pay of all keyworkers, which includes many people who are privately employed.
