Mandatory self-defence classes as part of school curriculum

What the petition asks
Self-defence lessons as part of primary and secondary school curriculum, at least once a week. This could help ensure young women/girls feel safer walking the streets.
After reading that up to 97% of women in the UK have experienced some kind of sexual harassment, it is clear to me that we are not safe from predators. I believe having/knowing the correct techniques to protect ourselves in these situations can prevent these kinds of situations from occurring or at least lower the rates at which they are happening.
