Petition · past parliament

Let school student express themselves without being denied education.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like them to have a discussion with schools the matter of children having coloured hair, makeup and piercings, and help to remove these unnecessary rules.
So that kids don’t have to miss out on education because of the way they want to express themselves.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The UK Government does not set rules about student appearance. This is a matter for individual schools.

We have accepted the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Ban mandatory uniforms in state schools: Ban mandatory uniforms in state schools

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to ban schools from setting any rules about student appearance, if that is what you want to happen.
