Exempt individual private sellers from plant passporting for online sales

Closed 198 signatures

What the petition asks

We call on the Government to exempt individual private plant sellers from needing to issue plant passports for sales made online. Sellers usually make none or very little profit which cover personal expenses intended for the customer such as; delivering by post.
We believe that having the same rules for both the large plant moving companies, who have large turnovers, and the individual private sellers is unfair. Small online sales won't cover application or inspection costs. The new regulations allow for sales face-to-face or by delivering yourself, but still require plant passports when delivery through a postal service. Plants have a positive effect on health and wellbeing and individual private plant sellers are currently limited with the regulations in place.
