Make public sexual harassment in the UK illegal
Rejected

What the petition asks
It is highly common for women to sexually harassed in public, whether it’s on the tube late at night, or on their way to picking up groceries in broad daylight. Sexual harassment entails catcalling, prude comments made about their body, being unwillingly touched or hugged etc. Make this illegal.
97% of women aged 18-24 in the UK have been sexually harassed. 80% have stated this to have taken place in public spaces. 80% of these instances could have been prevented or taken action upon had it been legislated against. Let’s make women in this country feel at least ever so slightly safer.
