women (yes, this also happens to other genders too) get obscene comments shouted at them from across the street, from behind us, from inside vehicles while we get in our car, while we walk to school. It’s threatening, it’s scary, it’s possessive and it’s wrong. It is not a compliment, it is a threat. It’s especially scary if it’s dark or if we’re walking by ourselves. They don’t want our number, they don’t want to give us a compliment, they want to threaten us and enough is enough.
