What the petition asks
Pass a legislation to make catcalling an offence that can be punished by a fine of £1,000.
Catcalling hugely perpetuates rape culture and is a huge factor which makes people feel unsafe when travelling around the country, especially late at night. By making it a fineable crime people may be less likely to catcall and also it may contribute to making people feel safer when travelling.
