What the petition asks
To realise that policing needs to be ranked. A weekly Question Time review and national focus through regional BBC News on the seven Police Services. Eg: Region 1 has arrested more pedestrians.
I think it's a happy medium between defunding the police and having a politicised service.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see changes to the structure of the police, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
In any case, policing is devolved to Scotland and Northern Ireland, so the UK Government is only responsible for policing in England and Wales.
