Sanction the Pakistani government for failing to protect LGBT communities

Closed 49 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the Government explore using the new sanctions regime that allows individuals and entities that violate human rights around the world to be targeted against the Pakistani government, for failing to revoke laws that discriminate against the LGBT community.
Sanctions should remain in place the LGBT community has been provided with basic legal protections.

It's disgusting that gay people can be sent to prison for 2 to 10 years for same sex sexual acts. There are LGBT people suffering in Pakistan. There is a fine line between practicing religion and oppressing others. LGBT people should be provided protection by law against oppression and not be thrown into jail for just being themselves. We as humans should care about one another.
