What the petition asks
Dissolve Kirklees Council and re-instate Huddersfield Borough Council.
Dissolve Kirklees Council. It represents a very large geographical area.
If Huddersfield Borough Council was re-instated, it could concentrate better on the requirements / needs of the people of Huddersfield.
As Huddersfield is such a large town, with a high population, it needs to be governed better, with a local council that can concentrate and address the needs of the Town.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We cannot accept petitions calling on the Government to unilaterally change local Government structures. Decisions about local governance is a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or House of Commons.
