Make travelling to see a partner abroad a legal reason for ‘Essential Travel’
Rejected

What the petition asks
There is no official date in sight to plan to see a loved one overseas with rules constantly changing. Many have been separated from their partners or family so the government needs to revise rules on ‘essential travel’ + allow ‘reunification with partners/family members’ as a legal reason to travel
I, like many others, am currently dealing with the heartache of being in a long distance relationship + we have been separated for 6 months now! I’m sure there are many others who are also going through this and I’m sure for even longer so I propose that the government allow the reunification of partners/families as a legal reason to travel during this current lockdown. To be fined £5,000 to travel is ridiculous when you are just trying to see the person you love so help make a change!
