Stop the creation of a female offenders centre on Porthcawl's seafront.

What the petition asks
Look for somewhere more suitable. People come to Porthcawl to enjoy themselves, not to be punished. This proposal will have a devastating effect on our town and its tourism industry.
There are many isolated spots away from residential areas and the temptations offered by a busy seaside holiday resort. As the Armed Forces are to be drastically reduced in number, a large number of more suitable locations will be coming onto the market.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since you started your petition Bridgend County Borough Council has stated that a representative of the Ministry for Justice has confirmed they will not be submitting planning applications for a new Wales Residential Women’s Centre at Sunnyside House in Bridgend town centre or the Atlantic Hotel in Porthcawl.
