Make Newbridge fields safe and provide lighting for women to walk home at night

What the petition asks

BCBC to provide lighting along path. Women should not have to choose between the risks of walking home and their own safety. The path way in both directions has no lighting, the area to Newbridge fields is pitch black. Women wont leave their homes at night because they are scared to walk this route.

No lighting is a hotspot for assault. Having a lite pathway is the minimum we expect to protect women who need to walk home. Violence towards a person with or without injury has been in the top 3 crimes reported in Bridgend in 2020 and 2019. Thats 78% of all crimes reported. Women are vulnerable and scared to walk home at night. We need lighting to get home safe and have access to the recreation facilities at Bridgend tennis club and local leisure centre.
