Cap MP salary at £50,000

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

I implore the government to cap MP salary, as well as capping expense subsidiaries and limit what expense money can be spent on. For people who already earn such a large amount taxpayers money given towards expenses should not be spent on meals out with friends and appearance based items.
MP salary has risen extortionately, and I feel they are out of touch with what living standards. Lowering their salary will mean that more of the taxpayer money can go to other necessary causes, such as the NHS and nurse pay, and feeding our poorest.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
