Change maternity leave rules for baby losses before 24 weeks

What the petition asks

I would like the Government to increase the entitlement a mother has after losing a child before the 3rd trimester. If a mother loses a child before 24 weeks they are only entitled to 'sick' pay.

I'd like to suggest half maternity leave for loss from 20 weeks

I myself have lost my baby girl, Evelyn, at the beginning of 2021 and have been lucky enough to be supported by the company I work for. Unfortunately a lot of women are not and there is a lot of anxiety surrounding going back to work after a loss. I have been the sands baby loss support group and have seen many women who have ended up leaving jobs they love because they are not ready to go back 2 weeks after labour.
