Children under school age not to be included in restrictions on gatherings

What the petition asks
Including children under the age of 5 in the limit on the number of people who can meet, makes it difficult for mothers who have spent their whole maternity in isolation and who have or will be returning to work. If a mother has twins or multiple children, it makes it even more limiting.
It is also affecting the celebration of birthdays, especially for those children spending their second birthday in lockdown. Babies’ social development is under pressure as it is. Many nurseries remained open during lockdown, so why is it not seen as safe for young children not to be included in social gathering limits?
