60+ new homes are to be build on land near Whitby Abbey despite objections from residents.
Whitby Town Council have objected to the plans, with “concerns over highways and access, community safety and impact on the character of the local area”.

This is a historic building and needs protecting along with the surrounding area which is home to wildlife and insects.
