Disregard the findings and recommendations of the Sewell report

What the petition asks
We believe that the report of the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities does not meet its intended objectives, is not robust and does not clearly state the important questions it intends to address, and as a result it lacks rigour, and only goes further to compound disparities.
The report changes the starting point for the discourse around racial inequality, without authority. We believe the report lays the blame for the inequality at the doors of BAME groups, legitimises the unfair treatment of already marginalised groups, and changes the axil of a history seeped in structural racism that sets the backdrop for our current condition. A flawed evidence base has been used to support an ideology that institutional racism does not exist.
