Increase fixed penalty fines for littering

What the petition asks
Penalties need to be increased to a level which shows that the authorities and society will no longer tolerate this antisocial, selfish behaviour, detrimental to the environment.
We have seen scenes across England of littered strewn parks, nature reserves, beaches and open spaces recently. Litter can have an effect on residents, people’s health, the economy, business, tourism, on crime and anti-social behaviour, and of course, on the environment.
'A Green Future: Our 25 Year Plan to Improve the Environment', sets out what the Government will do to improve the environment within a generation. Increasing consequences for littering could have an immediate positive environmental effect.
