What the petition asks

I would like to bring your attention to this matter where UK Govt has put Pakistan on a red list of the countries from Friday 9th of April 2021. This has caused a lot of panic, distress and problems for the British Pakistani community who are stuck in Pakistan now.

As it stands Pakistan has an extremely less number of COVID cases which are roughly 13 out of 100,000 whereas
UK stands on 54/100,000
France : 403/100,000
Germany: 137/100,000
India : 24/100,000 (reported by WSJ)
I would also like to mention here that South African variant hasn’t been a concern in Pakistan and no cases were reported of that variant but a lot of cases have been reported of that variant in France, Germany & India yet these countries are not on the UK’s red list.
The British Pakistani community feels discriminated & believes that this decision of putting Pakistan on UKs red list countries appears to be anything but science as so many other countries including UKs neighbouring , all have significantly higher number of COVID cases yet they are not on the red list.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
