Publish criteria for when countries on the UK's Red List may be removed from it

Closed 1,042 signatures

What the petition asks

The UK government has added Bangladesh, Kenya, Pakistan and Philippines to its growing "Red List". While the need for doing so is understandable, we need the government to provide clarity around what criteria or timeline would result in a country being removed from the red list in the near future.
The short notice of this decision leaves many UK nationals stranded in these countries with a tough decision to make in many respects i.e. financially (£1,750 per person) or mentally having to live in a hotel room, in some cases with little children or elderly. Instead of British Nationals having to pay extortionate amounts to reschedule flights, some clarity around what criteria (e.g. R rate) should be set for when a country might be taken out of the list, with a proposed timeline for review.
