Push Tameside Council to hand over Tameside Theatre/Hippodrome to the community

What the petition asks

Either fund our theatre with the new government arts funding programme for the restoration of our theatre or push Tameside Council to hand it over to the community which is listed in there options of disposal.

I live in Ashton-Under-Lyne, part of the Tameside Community.
We have no proper entertainment venues.

Standing practically derelict we have an old Theatre in great need of attention.

Tameside council have this venue on there disposal list. We do not want this venue sold to outsiders that will come in and change it into yet another restaurant or yet more flats etc.
Tameside needs this building to be restored to its natural beauty and bring the entertainment back into the Tameside Community.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
