Teaching of correct consent during sex included in schools

Rejected 18 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like the discussion to be had of including correct sexual behaviour around consent, and its importance.
And the understanding of consent.
I feel it isn't a topic that's included in any safe sex lessons. I feel this will reduce the amount of sexual assaults if the correct teaching is given to teenagers, as they are beginning to become sexually active.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

The Government's new Relationships and Sex Education curriculum, which is mandatory in all state schools from this year, requires that students are now taught about key aspects of the law relating to sex, which include the age of consent, what consent is and is not, the definitions and recognition of rape, sexual assault and harassment, and that sexual violence and sexual harassment are not acceptable: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/relationships-education-relationships-and-sex-education-rse-and-health-education/relationships-and-sex-education-rse-secondary
