Release all details of all offences for DBS checks of care/education workers

Closed 1,189 signatures

What the petition asks

It's too easy for perpetrators of domestic violence to access the vulnerable. The Disclosure and Barring Service filters some cautions, warnings and arrests from the record after 6 years. As legislation and facilities improve for victims of DV, it's time to ensure the safety of our vulnerable.
Despite the seemingly mild offences that cautions/warnings that are filtered represent, the reality is often far more serious, as many perpetrators may only be given a caution or warning. Worryingly, after 6 years they may then be able to find employment working with the vulnerable.

As a nurse working with vulnerable people, I would like DBS to disclose the same depth of information as Clare’s Law to employers in healthcare or schools.
