Create a Remembrance Day bank holiday on Monday after Remembrance Sunday in Nov

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Given:
a) the gratefulness and respect we pay to those who have lost their lives in service to country;
b) the debt of gratitude we owe frontline workers during the pandemic;
c) the grief we have experienced as a nation during the pandemic,
a public holiday is a pause to thank and remember.
It will be an opportunity for families to be together to share memories and visit places of remembrance e.g. cemeteries, favourite places, etc.

It will also break up the long period between August bank holiday and Christmas. Also it could delay inappropriately early Christmas advertising as businesses focus on this holiday.
