Stop the European Super League from forming!!

What the petition asks
Put a stop to the owners of the big premier league club making these decisions who clearly have no idea about our game, they just want more money for themselves. Stop them from destroying our beautiful game!!
We as football fans don’t want to our clubs form a separate league, especially by the owners who are purely doing it to get more cash in their pockets. When really it is us, the fans, who built the sport to what it has become. So many of us pay our hard earned money to watch our team play in the premier league and champions and for that to be taken away by greedy businessmen is not right.
It’ll destroy our sport and before we know there will be no ‘football’ and grassroots sports will be nonexistent

Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
We understand you're concerned about English clubs joining the proposed European Super League, however since you started your petition the Government has clearly expressed its opposition to the plans and the six participating English clubs have all withdrawn, as you may know.
On Monday 19 April the Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden MP said that he was appalled by the announcement that a handful of clubs are proposing to form their own breakaway European league, ands said the Government would not hesitate to protect one of our greatest national institutions: football. The Culture Secretary said that the Government would back the football authorities to stop this move, and if the football authorities couldn’t act, the Government would. The Culture Secretary said the Government would "put everything on the table to prevent this from happening."

Further, on 19 April the Government announced a 'Fan-led review of football governance', which will explore ways of improving the governance, ownership and financial sustainability of clubs in English football, building on the strengths of the football pyramid.
