Cut council costs for the right to place a headstone on graves

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Milton Keynes council and many other councils around the UK place a cost on the right to "Place a headstone on a grave". In Milton Keynes this is £750-£1000. In Daventry this is £3000! the council should not profit from a persons death, when that person has paid council tax all their life.
I want the government to cut costs for the right to place a headstone, this should be free. Buying a headstone is expensive and a council placing this cost adds costs to a deceases family and shown no respect for the dead. People have already paid for the rights to the grave and placing a costs on the right to place a headstone is a way for the council to try and profit.

Why it was rejected
