What the petition asks
Can we Use your Data to Make Money" on the First Page of every website - no confusing multiple choice tick boxes. Just that One Question. People are fooled into allowing Website owners access to their data by the complexity of the Cookie questionaires.
Trillions of "bites" of unwanted adverts and spam is clogging up and slowing down the Internet. In electricity alone the cost to the Planet must be really high. The effect of Spam and Unwanted Emails, Ads and other Junk Mail also has an effect on people's mental health.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The Government is responsible for data protection legislation, but implementing measures that ensure they are compliant with these and deciding how to offer their services is a matter for indiviudal data holders, including website operators, not the Government or House of Commons.
