What the petition asks
Change the island crossing to either a zebra crossing or traffic lights at the aldi at knightsridge Livingston. The road for residents to the local main shop is dangerous. The cars speed around the corner making it unsafe to cross.
The cars that come along the main walk way to the shop travel at some speed. My daughter was nearly hit by a car as the road is that bad the speed drivers come flying around the corner
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Petitions must call for a specific action that the UK Government or House of Commons is responsible for.
Decisions about local roads are a matter for your local authority, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
You could raise this issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them: https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
