Start Social Media verification through a double-blind system

Closed 142 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the Government to implement a forced verification for social media users in the UK, through a .gov website. Doing this can help track users down when they participate in hate speech online. With my proposed 'double-blind' system social media platforms will not have access to users ID's.
Hate speech online is getting to a toxic level around the world, if the UK pioneer a system like this, other countries may follow their lead creating a safer space online whilst still maintaining free speech. Social Media hate speech is linked to countless numbers of depression cases and other mental health issues. It affects those on all walks of life and the current ways of dealing with it allows offenders to walk away scotch free.
